Raider Team

JROTC Raider Competitions are the athletic competition component of JROTC programs. Knightdale High School “Raiders” are a team of mentally and physically tough Cadets who train to compete regionally in Raider competitions in a series of timed events.
The specific events may differ from competition to competition, but typically consist of:

Physical Fitness Test – consisting of push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups and a 1 mile run.
Obstacle Course – moving some number of items as a team through a series of obstacles.
Logistics Relay – a series of two-Cadet teams accomplishing tasks for time (i.e.; tire-flips, ammo crate drag, and litter carry).
One Rope Bridge – the Team constructs a rope transport system between two supports that are 52’ apart, and then crosses by means of a Swiss seat harness and carabiner.
Distance Running Event – typically a 5 kilometer Team run done in uniform and while carrying a water source.
