The Knightdale High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp was originally made around the 2013 school year. The original instructors of the class were Colonel Lewis who had more than 28 years of service in the Military and Sergeant First Class Grant who entered basic training at Fort Jackson in 1988. Now in 2019, the KHSCD Army JROTC has 2 highly trained instructors and more than 400 students. The KHSCD Army JROTC program has successfully succeeded when it came to basic LET class and in our Special Team Programs!

Today, the Knightdale High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp has over 200 students ranging from different diversities and cultures. Knightdale has been pleased to receive two outstanding Instructors, (RET) Colonel Young and (RET) First Sergeant Littlejohn. Knightdale is also pleased to have their award winning Knights Guard, Unarmed and Armed Drill Team, Color Guard, and Raider Team. Knights Battalion, keep up the great work!
